The incident occurred at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield during a gruelling battle between Murphy and Fan Zhengyi.

Murphy took to social media after the session to warn the heckler, stating that 'no one knows how tough it is' to compete under such pressure.

Snooker chiefs have confirmed that prize money for the tournament will be increased for the 2027 edition following the incident.
