Sudan war enters fourth year

The ongoing struggle between the Sudanese military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces has resulted in at least 59,000 deaths and widespread destruction of infrastructure.

Regional powers, including the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, have been implicated in the conflict, complicating diplomatic efforts to reach a lasting peace.

Despite the scale of the suffering, aid organizations report a significant shortfall in funding and global attention compared to other modern conflicts.

Germany and the United Kingdom have pledged additional humanitarian aid to mark the grim anniversary, but analysts remain skeptical of a near-term resolution.
