Robot monk joins Buddhist sect

A humanoid robot named Gabi has been ordained as a Buddhist monk at the Jogye Temple in Seoul, South Korea.

The 4ft 3in android received a dharma name and pledged to devote itself to the faith during a formal ceremony.

Gabi is expected to serve as an honorary monk, participating in processions and offering a unique, tech-driven perspective on spiritual life.
