Trump hails Israel-Lebanon breakthrough

In a late-night announcement, President Donald Trump revealed that Israeli and Lebanese leadership have agreed to direct negotiations for the first time in over three decades.

The talks aim to establish a peace framework and end six weeks of hostilities between the Israeli military and the Hezbollah armed group.

While the White House expressed optimism for a breakthrough, the U.S. has simultaneously deployed 10,000 additional troops to the Middle East to maintain security.

Mediators from Pakistan are also involved in parallel efforts to address the nuclear standoff with Iran that underpins the regional volatility.
