Machete Attack at Grand Central

A violent incident at one of New York City's busiest transit hubs left three elderly victims injured and the assailant dead on Saturday morning.

The suspect, identified as Anthony Griffen, launched a random attack on a subway platform at Grand Central Terminal using a large machete.

Responding officers attempted to de-escalate the situation, issuing over 20 commands for the man to disarm before he advanced on them, prompting the fatal shooting.

Authorities have confirmed that the victims are in stable condition and that there is no known link to terrorism, though the motive remains under investigation.
