Major drug ring smashed in UK

A major drugs ring responsible for 14 overdoses and several deaths has been broken up by police in northern England.

The organized crime group supplied contaminated heroin laced with a synthetic opioid 1,500 times more potent than morphine.

Two members of the ring were apprehended following a coordinated raid in Grimsby, where authorities seized a significant quantity of illegal substances.

Health officials have issued an urgent warning to users about the dangers of the contaminated batch, which has been linked to a spike in emergency department visits.

The investigation remains ongoing as police seek to identify other distributors involved in the network.
