Epstein files audit launched

Epstein files audit launched

Inspector General Michael Horowitz has initiated a formal review into how the Justice Department collected and released materials associated with Jeffrey Epstein.

The audit will scrutinize the department's process for addressing privacy concerns and its adherence to congressional mandates for public disclosure.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have accused the DOJ of 'wanton disregard' for transparency after numerous files remained withheld or heavily censored.

This oversight move comes as the House Oversight Committee considers whether a pardon for accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell could unlock further information for their ongoing investigation.
