Supreme Court Rejects Trump’s Carroll Appeal

The Supreme Court declined to hear President Trump's appeal of the $5 million verdict in E. Jean Carroll's sexual abuse and defamation case.

The decision leaves the jury verdict intact, requiring Trump to pay the award and ending his legal efforts to overturn the ruling.

The rejection was part of a mixed day for Trump at the high court, which also blocked his attempt to fire a Federal Reserve governor but expanded his power to remove heads of independent agencies.

The Carroll case has been a significant legal and political liability for the president.
