Gaza flotilla activists return home

Activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla have arrived back in Australia, Spain, and other nations following their detention by Israeli forces.

Gemma O'Toole, the first of eleven Australian detainees to return, described a harrowing experience, while arrivals in Bilbao, Spain, were marked by police charges and multiple arrests during protests.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog appeared to take a swipe at National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir over a video he posted of the detainees, stating that prisoners must not be abused regardless of their actions.

The incident has drawn condemnation from several Arab and Muslim-majority countries, further straining diplomatic relations in the region.
