South Korea Election Protests Continue

Protests in South Korea are continuing for a ninth consecutive day, with demonstrators demanding a re-run of last week's local elections.

The widespread ballot shortages that marred the initial vote have caused considerable embarrassment for the National Election Commission.

Despite a decrease in participant numbers compared to previous nights, around 700 protesters gathered in Seoul's Jamsil district on Saturday morning, chanting slogans and waving national flags.

Student-led demonstrations have been a prominent feature of these ongoing protests, highlighting deep public dissatisfaction with the election process.
