Israel surrounds Bint Jbeil

Israeli forces launched a major operation to seize the key border town on Monday, claiming to have killed over 100 Hezbollah fighters in the area during the past week.

The escalation comes just one day before historic talks are scheduled between Israeli and Lebanese government envoys in Washington.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam stated he is working to stop the war, even as Prime Minister Netanyahu told troops the fight is far from over.

The conflict has already resulted in over 2,000 deaths in Lebanon since the start of the invasion.
