Civil Rights Icon Clarence Jones Dies

Clarence B. Jones, the civil rights lawyer and close advisor to Martin Luther King Jr. who helped draft the 'I Have a Dream' speech, has died at 95.

Jones was a pivotal figure in the movement, coordinating legal strategies and fundraising efforts.

He famously smuggled King's 'Letter from Birmingham Jail' out of prison and served as his personal speechwriter during the height of the struggle for equality.

Jones's family confirmed he passed away peacefully at a senior living community in California.
