Palestine Action Protest Arrests

A major security operation in central London resulted in the arrest of 212 individuals on Saturday as hundreds rallied against the ban on Palestine Action.

The Metropolitan Police enforced the proscription of the group, which the government recently labeled a terrorist organization, leading to the detention of activists ranging in age from 18 to 87.

Among those arrested was Robert Del Naja, the frontman of the band Massive Attack, who was seen being carried away by officers.

Organizers criticized the police response, citing a recent High Court ruling that questioned the legality of the ban and arguing that the right to protest is being suppressed.
