Barney Frank dies at 86

Former Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank, a trailblazer for LGBTQ rights and a key architect of major financial reforms, has died at the age of 86.

Frank passed away while in hospice care due to congestive heart failure.

Serving 32 years in the House of Representatives, he was the first member of Congress to voluntarily come out as gay.

He co-authored the Dodd-Frank Act, which fundamentally reshaped the American financial system after the 2008 crisis.
