Artemis II Mission Reaches Orbit

The Artemis II crew has reached Earth orbit and begun a series of critical system checks before their scheduled translunar injection burn.

Despite minor technical glitches, including a temporary issue with the spacecraft's toilet and communication software, ground control reports the mission is proceeding as planned.

The ten-day voyage will test the Orion capsule’s life-support systems and deep-space navigation capabilities.

This landmark mission is a foundational step toward establishing a sustainable human presence on the moon later this decade.
