Turkey Rocked by School Shootings

The violence in the southern province of Kahramanmaraş has left the nation in shock, as school shootings are historically rare in Turkey.

Authorities reported that the teenaged shooter also took his own life during the commotion as police and ambulances rushed to the scene.

This tragedy follows a separate shooting on Tuesday where 16 people were injured by another former student.

The Turkish government has launched a high-level inquiry into how the minors obtained access to firearms and has increased security presence at educational institutions nationwide.
