SPLC Indicted on Federal Fraud Charges

The Justice Department has brought significant criminal charges against the Southern Poverty Law Center, a prominent civil rights organization.

The indictment alleges that the group improperly raised millions of dollars from donors while secretly paying informants to infiltrate far-right organizations like the Ku Klux Klan.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche stated that the SPLC failed to disclose these payments, effectively defrauding its contributors.

SPLC leadership has denied the allegations, claiming the investigation is a politically motivated attempt by the Trump administration to target its critics.
