UK smoking ban passes Parliament

In a historic victory for public health, both the House of Commons and the House of Lords have agreed on the final draft of the Tobacco and Vapes Bill.

The new law will make it illegal to sell tobacco products to anyone currently aged 17 or younger for the rest of their lives.

Health Secretary Wes Streeting hailed the move as a defining moment for the country’s health strategy.

The bill also introduces strict new regulations on the marketing and sale of vapes and nicotine pouches to minors.
