Poland Strips Zelensky of Top Honor

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that he had returned Poland's highest state decoration, a day after Polish President Karol Nawrocki announced he had stripped him of the award.

The dispute centres on a Ukrainian army unit named after a World War II nationalist group whose actions remain a source of historical tension between the two countries.

Three former Ukrainian presidents also announced they were returning their Polish state awards in solidarity.

The escalating row threatens to undermine the close alliance between Warsaw and Kyiv that has been a cornerstone of Western support for Ukraine during the war with Russia.
