Eli Lilly profit more than doubles

Eli Lilly reported a massive surge in first-quarter earnings, with profits more than doubling to $2.24 billion as demand for its weight-loss and diabetes treatments reached record levels.

The company's blockbuster drugs, Zepbound and Mounjaro, drove a 26% increase in total revenue, prompting Lilly to raise its full-year guidance by $2 billion.

Executives stated that the launch of their newest metabolic treatment, Foundayo, is expected to further accelerate growth throughout 2026.

Despite the positive results, the company continues to face challenges in meeting global supply demands for its injectable therapies.
