Trump immigration poll shows GOP backing

The latest AP‑NORC poll released on Sunday shows that 8 in 10 Republicans continue to endorse President Trump’s immigration policies, making it his most resilient issue heading into the 2026 midterms.

By contrast, only 32 % of respondents approve of his handling of the economy.

The poll also revealed that Trump’s approval among independent voters has fallen to historic lows.
