U.S. Pilot Missing in Iran
The U.S. military is racing against time to locate a missing weapon systems officer after an F-15E Strike Eagle and an A-10 Warthog were downed by Iranian fire.
While one crew member has been safely recovered by special forces, the other remains behind enemy lines in a mountainous region of southwestern Iran.
Iranian state media has broadcast footage of the wreckage and encouraged citizens to assist in the capture of the 'intruder.' This incident marks the first combat aircraft losses for the United States to enemy fire in over two decades, challenging claims of air superiority.
