KPMG Australia CEO Resigns

KPMG Australia chief executive Andrew Yates has resigned immediately following a scandal involving the misuse of confidential client data.

The firm admitted that its internal investigations into whistleblower claims lacked sufficient rigour and transparency.

The controversy was sparked by a whistleblower who alleged that audit partners had inappropriately shared sensitive documents.

Yates stated that the firm had 'let itself down' and took full responsibility for the systemic failures in handling the breach.
