Shrey Parikh Wins Spelling Bee

Shrey Parikh has been crowned the champion of the 98th Scripps National Spelling Bee following an unprecedented tie-breaking challenge.

The eighth-grader from Rancho Cucamonga successfully navigated a grueling final round before entering a 'spell-off' against his last remaining competitor.

Parikh's victory came after he correctly spelled 32 complex words in just 90 seconds, a feat that left the audience and judges in awe.

He takes home a $52,500 cash prize and a commemorative trophy, continuing California's strong tradition in the national competition.
