Rubio Warns Iran on Hormuz Toll
Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned that Iran’s demand to control the Strait of Hormuz and charge tolls would set a dangerous precedent for global trade.
He said Washington remains open to diplomacy but accused Tehran of not taking negotiations seriously, suggesting US strikes would continue as long as Iran tried to control the waterway.
Rubio described Iran as “in a lot of trouble” and facing hyperinflation, rising food costs, and severe damage to its military infrastructure.
His comments signalled no letup in the US campaign even as the conflict approached its 145th day.
