Apple acquires PlasmaSolve materials‑science assets

In a filing with EU competition authorities, Apple confirmed the acquisition of PlasmaSolve’s advanced materials‑science portfolio, including patents on nanostructured composites and a team of 45 engineers.

The move is intended to speed up the development of new form factors, battery technologies and augmented‑reality hardware.

Regulators will assess the deal for potential antitrust concerns, given Apple’s dominant position in consumer electronics.

Analysts view the acquisition as a strategic step toward more vertically integrated product design.
