Tesco Smashes Profit Targets
Chief Executive Ken Murphy downplayed warnings of double-digit food inflation, stating that the company has not yet faced significant supply chain disruptions.
To maintain affordability for customers, Tesco plans to implement an additional £500 million in cost savings.
The grocer's market share in Ireland also grew to over 24%, marking its fourth consecutive year of growth in that region.
Despite the strong results, shares in the company remained sensitive to the broader economic impact of the Iran war on consumer spending.
