Russia-Ukraine Easter truce ends

Russia-Ukraine Easter truce ends

The ceasefire, declared by the Kremlin to mark the Orthodox Easter, failed to bring any significant relief to the conflict zones as hostilities remained intense.

Ukraine reported over 2,000 breaches by Russian forces, including the alleged execution of four prisoners of war, while Moscow claimed nearly 1,900 violations by Kyiv.

The expiration of the truce marks a return to full-scale combat operations, with both nations preparing for renewed offensives as the war enters its fifth year.

International observers noted that the lack of adherence to the ceasefire highlights the deep mistrust and the absence of any immediate path toward a diplomatic resolution.
