EU Approves €90B Ukraine Loan

EU Approves €90B Ukraine Loan

The breakthrough occurred during an informal summit in Cyprus, where the bloc also finalized a 20th package of sanctions against Russia.

The loan was made possible after Ukraine repaired the Druzhba pipeline, allowing oil to flow to Slovakia and Hungary.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed the decision, emphasizing that full membership in the EU remains Ukraine's ultimate goal.

The funds are expected to be disbursed in tranches starting as early as May.
