LVMH sales growth slows

LVMH sales growth slows

The global luxury market is showing signs of cooling as geopolitical instability weighs on high-end consumers.

LVMH, the world's largest luxury group, saw its fashion and leather goods division underperform as the conflict in the Middle East disrupted traditional shopping patterns.

CFO Cécile Cabanis stated that the 'party has been postponed' for a luxury recovery, with sales in some Gulf countries plunging by as much as 50% in March.

Investors are now closely watching upcoming reports from rivals Kering and Hermès to determine if the slowdown is industry-wide or specific to LVMH's brand portfolio.
