Mayor Olivia Chow supported the decision to remove the structure, citing concerns over 'dangerous and unsafe activities' in the downtown area.

This is the second time in a week that a Drake-related promotion has caused disruption in Toronto, following a pyrotechnic event for a music video that shook local residents.

The album's release date was eventually unveiled online shortly after the sculpture's removal.
