Sacked DJ Scott Mills Is BBC's Top Earner

Scott Mills was the BBC's highest-paid presenter, earning up to £749,999, before being sacked in March over a police investigation into alleged historical sexual offences.

The corporation's annual report revealed a loss of 539,000 licence fee payers, the biggest decline ever, deepening the funding crisis.

Director general Matt Brittin warned that the funding model is “unsustainable” and that the BBC faces “real jeopardy”.

Stephen Nolan became the third-highest earner as the broadcaster posted a third consecutive operating deficit.
