ISIS-linked women arrested in Australia

Three Australian women linked to the Islamic State have been arrested at airports in Melbourne and Sydney following their return from a Syrian refugee camp.

Two of the women face charges of crimes against humanity and slavery for their alleged actions in Syria.

The arrests follow a near decade-long police investigation into the activities of 'ISIS brides' who traveled to the Middle East during the height of the conflict.

Federal authorities have stated that the women will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law as they seek to address the legacy of foreign fighter involvement.

The case has reignited the national debate over the repatriation of citizens who joined terrorist organizations.
