Gaza aid flotilla activists deported

Israel has completed the deportation of two high-profile activists who were detained after leading an international aid flotilla bound for Gaza.

The individuals, a Spanish national and a Brazilian citizen, were intercepted by the Israeli navy in international waters and held for over a week before being flown out of the country.

Israeli officials stated the flotilla was an illegal attempt to breach a naval blockade, while the activists maintained their mission was purely humanitarian.

The incident has drawn criticism from human rights groups and several European governments.
