Lufthansa cancellations amid strike

Lufthansa's operations have been severely crippled by a coordinated walkout by two major unions representing its flight crews.

The strike has forced the cancellation of nearly all domestic and European short-haul services, leaving thousands of travelers stranded at hubs like Frankfurt and Munich.

Union leaders are demanding a significant pay increase to offset rising inflation, while management argues the demands are unsustainable given the current economic climate.

The disruption is expected to last through the weekend, with further industrial action threatened if a new contract is not reached.
