Record voter turnout in India

India is witnessing an unprecedented wave of voter engagement as millions cast their ballots in key state elections.

In West Bengal, the 92.9% turnout is the highest in the state's history, despite a controversial audit that removed nine million names from the rolls.

Tamil Nadu also recorded its highest-ever participation, with female voters outnumbering men in many districts.

Both the ruling parties and the opposition are claiming these historic numbers as a sign of their own impending victory in what is being seen as a crucial test for the Hindu Right.
