Artemis II shatters space records
The four astronauts aboard the Orion capsule reached a record-breaking distance of 252,756 miles from Earth on Monday, marking a major milestone for the Artemis program.
During their journey around the far side of the moon, the crew observed parts of the lunar surface never before seen by human eyes and witnessed a total solar eclipse.
The mission included an emotional moment as the crew named a lunar crater after the late wife of mission commander Reid Wiseman.
The spacecraft has now begun its return journey to Earth, with a splashdown scheduled for Friday.
