Teen Drownings During UK Heatwave

A series of tragic water accidents has left six people dead across the UK during the hottest bank holiday weekend on record.

Emergency services have issued urgent warnings about the dangers of cold water shock in open reservoirs and rivers.

Five of the victims were teenagers who got into difficulty while swimming at beauty spots in Lancashire, Warwickshire, and Cornwall.

The RNLI and police have urged parents to speak to their children about the 'very real risk' of entering unmonitored open water.
