A week of significant disruption across Ireland has reached a turning point as police dismantled the primary protest blockade in Dublin.
Hundreds of officers were deployed in a late-night operation to remove tractors and trucks that had paralyzed the capital's main thoroughfare.
Protesters, driven by record-high fuel prices linked to the Middle East conflict, have also targeted depots in Galway and Cork.
The government is now under intense pressure to deliver a support package that can prevent further unrest as pumps across the country run dry.
