Rumen Radev wins Bulgarian election
Radev, a known critic of the European Union and an opponent of military aid to Ukraine, hailed the result as a 'victory of hope.' His coalition is projected to hold at least 129 seats in the 240-seat parliament, potentially ending years of political gridlock and short-lived governments.
The outcome has raised concerns among Western allies about Bulgaria's future geopolitical alignment and its commitment to EU sanctions against Russia.
Radev has pledged to dismantle the country's 'oligarchic governance model' as he prepares to take office as Prime Minister.
