Former South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol was sentenced to two years in prison on Monday after being found guilty of receiving illegal polling services worth 270 million won from a political broker.

The Seoul Central District Court ruled that Yoon violated political funding laws by accepting the free polls during his 2022 presidential campaign.

Yoon is already serving a life sentence for insurrection related to his 2024 martial law declaration.

The latest conviction further tarnishes his legacy and underscores the legal troubles facing the former leader.
