US envoys head to Pakistan

U.S. special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on Saturday to participate in a new bid to salvage ceasefire talks with Iran.

Despite the high-level American delegation, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that no direct meeting is planned with the U.S. representatives.

The diplomatic push comes as an indefinite ceasefire has paused much of the active fighting, though the regional economic impact remains severe.

Pakistan continues to serve as the primary mediator, conveying demands and reservations between the two adversaries in Islamabad.
