Azzi Fudd goes No. 1

Azzi Fudd became the seventh player from the University of Connecticut to be taken No. 1 overall, joining a Dallas Wings roster that already features her close friend Paige Bueckers.

The 2026 draft class enters the league as player salaries have significantly increased under the new collective bargaining agreement.

UCLA set a new record with five players selected in the first round, including Lauren Betts at No. 4 and Kiki Rice at No. 6.

Commissioner Cathy Engelbert also hinted at the possibility of the WNBA playing its first international game in 2027.
