Ben Field's murder conviction quashed
Benjamin Field, who was sentenced to at least 36 years in 2019, has had his conviction for the murder of Peter Farquhar overturned.
Field was found guilty of a campaign of physical and mental torture against the 69-year-old lecturer in Maids Moreton.
The Court of Appeal's decision follows a review of the original trial's findings regarding the cause of Farquhar's death.
While the murder conviction was quashed, Field's other convictions for fraud and burglary remain, and he will remain in custody pending a retrial.
