Wildfires Rage Across Europe, Threaten UK Nuclear Plant

Wildfires are raging across multiple European nations, with a 100-hectare blaze in Suffolk burning near the Sizewell B nuclear power station and the construction site for Sizewell C. In France, over half of the 220,000 evacuees from the Bordeaux region were allowed to return home as firefighters brought the monster wildfire under control.

In Greece, hurricane-force winds fanned flames on Crete, while fires in Spain destroyed avocado farms and forced thousands to flee.

A new study found that human-induced climate change made the hot and dry conditions fueling the fires twice as likely.
