Trump Moves to Delist Syria from Terror List

President Trump formally began the process of removing Syria from the US list of state sponsors of terrorism, notifying Congress after telling Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa the move would help rebuild the war-ravaged country.

The decision, announced on the sidelines of the NATO summit, marks a major shift in Washington’s policy towards Damascus.

It will become official in 45 days unless Congress blocks the decision.

The move is part of a broader realignment of US policy in the region as the Iran conflict intensifies.
