Berlin Pride Attack Suspect Killed

German police shot and killed the chief suspect in the deadly Berlin Pride attack, identified as 21-year-old Abdul Ballout, a German citizen with Lebanese roots.

The confrontation occurred in a suburb of Berlin following a manhunt that lasted nearly a day after the suspect allegedly drove a rented van into crowds celebrating Berlin Pride.

The attack, described by officials as Islamist terrorism, killed one person and injured at least 29 others.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz urged unity in the wake of the fatal attack, the first such ramming to target the German capital's LGBTQ community.
