Rwandan genocide suspect dies

Félicien Kabuga, the alleged mastermind and financier of the 1994 Rwandan genocide, has died in custody in The Hague at the age of 93.

Kabuga had been on trial for crimes against humanity before being declared unfit to continue due to dementia.

He was arrested in France in 2020 after more than two decades on the run as one of the world's most wanted fugitives.

His death without a verdict has left many survivors and victims' families feeling deprived of final justice.
