Artemis II completes lunar flyby

The four-person crew of the Orion spacecraft, Integrity, has transitioned into the return phase of their mission after a flawless navigation of the moon's gravity.

During the flyby, the astronauts captured high-resolution imagery of impact craters and ancient lava flows that had never been viewed directly by human eyes.

A poignant moment occurred when the crew proposed naming a lunar crater after the late wife of Commander Reid Wiseman.

The mission also provided a rare vantage point for a total solar eclipse, which the crew documented as they emerged from the communication blackout behind the moon.
