Artemis II passes halfway mark

The four-member crew of Artemis II is now closer to the moon than to Earth as they enter the fourth day of their nine-day mission.

This voyage represents the first time humans have traveled beyond Earth's orbit in over half a century, serving as a critical test for the Orion spacecraft's systems.

Despite the mission's technical success, astronauts have had to manage a malfunctioning waste disposal system, which engineers suspect may be caused by a frozen vent line.

The crew is scheduled to perform a lunar flyby on Monday before beginning their return journey.
